FIBRECEL is a carbon fiber fuel cell hand-crafted in the USA using genuine carbon fiber and aerospace grade epoxy resin. The cell is created as two pieces (top and bottom) which are then bonded together using a FRP specific structural adhesive. FIBRECEL's interior surface is sealed with an epoxy sealer specially designed for use in fuel cells. The outstanding gloss is achieved as a result of a high clarity epoxy resin, as well as an acrylic urethane clear coat applied after all other fabrication for UV protection.
The model pictured was designed for use on a second generation Polaris RMK 800. Although it maintains much of the basic original shape, it was designed to accommodate an aluminum filler neck, machined to mate up to the stock filler cap. The filler neck is mounted to the cell using a nine-bolt pattern from an off-road racing type dry break receiver.
Fuel capacity for this cell is 12.5 gallons. While our first prototype weighs in at 7.5 pounds compared to the 8.3 pounds for the stock polyethylene tank, we have reduced that weight to 4.6 pounds due to refinements in laminate procedures and products.
Pricing is to be determined based on material construction and custom modifications requested by the customer. One hundred percent carbon fiber cells will, of course, be at the top end of the price range, while appearance only models will offer a more affordable option for those who want to have genuine carbon fiber surface layer for looks reinforced with a more affordable cloth material.
Please contact us with questions or quotes for your specific application of our FIBRECEL technology. Possible applications may include high speed boats (Hydrostream, Allison, Eliminator, etc.), off-road recreational vehicles, street bikes?
